I'm STILL getting used to being called 'Sofia' at school, after a year and a half - at my old school, for all twelve years I was there, everyone called me Fia. XD And friends call me Fee... But 'Sofia' is Greek, and it's spelled unusually (not 'Sophia') and it means 'wisdom', so I'm not complaining. XD

Heheh, in Karachi (Pakistan), when anyone used my proper name, it wasn't soh-FEE-ah, it was SOH-fee-ah. XD Pakistanis are as terrible at pronouncing Western words as Americans are at pronouncing "foreign" words! XD Silly, silly Paki-maniacs. *shakes head but smiles fondly* |

I've got ancestors from all those countries, but living in California, I basically just say I'm 1/4 'white', 1/4 Mexican, and 1/2 Pakistani. XD Which means I can laugh at all three groups of people, muahahahaha... I jest. XD Racism's a joke here anyway.

Just a habit I developed a while ago, though it may have been influenced by growing up in a country full of crazy conservative Muslim fundamentalists,I guess...
