You end up being really nice, and then when someone offers you drugs you are too nice to refuse and you end up overdosing and dying. (I love how all of these answers includes us dying. xD)

You become Ruler of the world for one second before I overthrow you because you ruled the world in a horrible way that made lots of people suffer. I, on the other hand, rule peacefully and fairly. You do, but you're only allowed three wishes. The leprechaun that is granting your wishes tells you that you can wish for a fourth thing, so you do. But then all the things you wished for go back to normal because the short man has tricked you! He then promptly disappears.
