MoonClan
In general, this is a fairly relaxed Clan. MoonClan is a very close-knit group , essentially one big family, much thanks to Dragonstar’s leadership. Its members are typically fair and honest cats. The warriors are brave and deeply loyal, and are generally kind to outsiders, though it is not uncommon for them take on a sense of superiority about being MoonClan cats. Their pelts range through a variety of colors, gray being the most common and pure white appearing only occasionally; brown and ginger are somewhere in between. Though they are descended from the ancient RiverClan, these cats have long adapted to life in the forest, rather than in the water. They can swim if they must, but they certainly don't like it.
Since they hunt primarily in woodland and tall grass, their main hunting technique is stalking their prey. Rodents and birds make up most of their fresh-kill, as well as the occasional rabbit. MoonClan cats are particularly adept at climbing trees -though they are by no means tree-dwellers- and concealing themselves in the undergrowth of their forest home, making them both skilled hunters and formidable warriors. While they are often the most physically powerful of all the Clans, their primary fighting style is an effective combination of speed and force, as they are trained as apprentices to balance their abilities. MoonClan’s greatest rivalry is with NightClan - the initial cause has been long forgotten, but the two have never quite let ruffled fur lie smooth between them.
NightClan
NightClan warriors are generally good at heart, intelligent, and fiercely loyal to their Clan. Noble and proud, they value the warrior code deeply, following it as closely as they can without being fanatical about it. Usually, they are well-mannered and sensible, particularly around cats of other Clans. NightClan cats are not bloodthirsty, but not at all afraid to show their claws. As their name would suggest, they are often dark-furred cats, whether they be black or gray or brown; still, there are exceptions, though it is unusual for a white or silver NightClan kit to be born.
Like their ShadowClan ancestors, the cave-dwelling cats of this Clan are skilled night hunters, capable of catching prey in the deepest darkness. Their main diet consists of frogs, lizards, and small, furry animals that hide in the roots of the trees that make up their dark forest. In the swamp that this Clan alone can navigate, they sometimes catch water birds and, on very rare occasions, snakes. NightClan warriors use their lying-in-wait hunting style to their full advantage in battle, waiting patiently and striking when their opponents’ are open to attack. They are trained to be clever fighters, preferring quick-thinking and strategy to sheer strength, though they typically don't lack physical power. NightClan has a long, unfriendly history with MoonClan, and the tension between them has never quite disappeared, though there has been no actual bloodshed in many moons.
SunClan
The cats of SunClan are fierce, clever warriors, the descendants of ThunderClan. Typically sharp-tongued and devoted to duty, they are raised to be fully committed to serving their Clan. Generally, they are affectionate amongst themselves, mainly thanks to their outgoing Soundstar, and fairly friendly towards non-SunClan cats; MoonClan in particular enjoys nothing but good will from this Clan, for no two leaders are on as friendly terms as Soundstar and Dragonstar. The opposite is true for DayClan, the sworn enemy of SunClan. Against their smaller, faster foes, SunClan warriors use their skillful battle moves for capturing the DayClan cats, and then, if they are successful, overpower them with well-aimed, crushing blows.
Though they don’t quite have the physical force to contend with MoonClan, or the tactical precision to outwit NightClan, their own style of attack is highly effective against warriors of all Clans. Their remarkable paw-eye coordination is partially due to the fact that they make their home behind a massive pile of boulders, which they learn at an early age to navigate with great precision to avoid slipping and falling to their deaths. They hunt in a great field that makes up most their territory, preying on the many small grassland rodents and sometimes rabbits, if they can catch them. Their fur is often some shade of ginger, golden, or brown, though it is not rare to find cats of other hues in SunClan.
DayClan
DayClanners tend to be level-headed, logical cats, completely devoted to their own Clan. Generally, they are reasonable and down-to-earth, forever thinking through their actions and rarely making rash decisions. Though they are spirited warriors, they are not usually quick to start fights - though in contrast with their usual rationality, there remains from the old WindClan days the slight paranoia that everyone else is out to get them. DayClan cats typically have calm, cautious personalities, and strive to be great warriors and do what is best for their Clanmates. These cats usually have light fur colors –white, gray, brown, or otherwise– but darker pelts do sometimes appear in DayClan.
Through many seasons, they have retained the old WindClan speed and agility, making them the swiftest of warriors, though not the strongest. Well-suited to their open grassland home, DayClan cats are capable of chasing down rabbits and snatching birds out of bushes, or the very air, with lightning speed. They also hunt the many small animals that make their homes in the fields. Warriors of DayClan rely on their quick paws and dexterity in battle as well, particularly against their physically stronger SunClan rivals. The bitterness between DayClan and SunClan runs deep, despite the fact that no cat is sure what initially sparked the feud.
DeathClan
This is the Clan that the remnants of BloodClan became. Scattered for many seasons, the few remaining descendants of the forest cats’ ancient enemies now live together under the rule of Fading, their twisted but effective tyrant of a leader. DeathClan, however, lives in the forest rather than in Twolegplace. The other Clans despise them, but tolerate their presence in the forest because of the abiding indifference that DeathClan has shown towards them for as long as any cat can remember. Modern DeathClan consists mainly of former rogues and loners. The cats of this so-called Clan do not care for, or even support, each other as the other Clans do - rather, they put up with each other for the sake of safety in numbers, and simply because Fading generally prefers not to have his camp reek of blood and rotting corpses.
DeathClan is known among those bound by warrior-code as a band of lawless savages, cruel and bloodthirsty. While this is true for some members of DeathClan, others are simply cats who do not care for the responsibilities of Clan life or the restricted life of kittypets, but who prefer to have a more-or-less permanent home; and perhaps, occasionally, some companionship, such as it is. Disorganized and often internally competitive, DeathClan has no apprentice system and marks no particular borders, though individuals may mark their own personal space on the off chance that their Clanmates will pay any attention. In general, DeathClan cats looks upon the ‘Clan rats’ with disdain, even disgust, but mean them no real harm. Still, one can never really tell with DeathClan.
